Jim Shore, artiste primé, a grandi dans une région rurale de la Caroline du Sud. Fils de parents artistes passionnés qui lui ont donné l'amour de l'art populaire américain traditionnel et ses valeurs. Il fut également inspiré par sa grand-mère qui lui a fait apprécier les arts manuels. Jim a étudié l'ingénierie et est diplômé en commerce. Il a soutenu sa famille en tant qu'ingénieur, perfectionnant ses compétences de sculpteur et de peintre pendant son temps libre. Il a finalement créé sa propre entreprise, Designs Americana, pour commercialiser ses créations. En 2000, Jim a signé un accord de licence avec Enesco pour créer Heartwood Creek. C'est une gamme d'objets de décoration qui lui ont valu une renommé mondiale. Tout en travaillant avec Enesco, Jim a perfectionné son style unique en combinant des éléments d'art populaire et une palette de couleurs vibrantes appliquées à des thèmes traditionnels. En 2005 Jim Shore s'associe avec Disney et ils forment ensemble la collection Disney Traditions. De ce partenariat fructueux l'artiste tire une grande reconnaissance des consommateurs. Son style de conception unique appliqué à des personnages emblématiques de Disney a fait de Disney Traditions l'une des collection de co-branding les plus prospères.
