Description

Reproduction in plaster identical to the original statue displayed at the Louvre Museum.
Reproduction in plaster, hand patinated. This statue was made from the original on display at the Louvre Museum, and takes its exact dimensions. This reproduction is the result of excellent techniques and know-how. The 3D impression technique was used to reproduce all the details of the original statue. The handmade patina shows the unique know-how cultivated by the craftsmen of the Rmn-GP's moulding workshop. Seated Scribe, 4th or 5th dynasty, 2600-2350. Paris, Louvre Museum. Original in polychrome limestone. This scribe owes his fame to his realism, accentuated by the good conservation of his polychromy and the mystery surrounding his discovery. But it is above all his eyes that fascinate: encrusted with rock crystal, his eyes possess an astonishing power of life. The particular care taken with this sculpture suggests that it is a very high dignitary of the Old Kingdom. Exclusive sale at the bookshop-boutique of the Louvre Museum, by appointment only.
