Even fortune cookies are trying to sell you something now

A New York City-based company is writing branded fortunes, which are folded into classic-looking fortunes at about 19,000 Chinese restaurants around the country. The company, OpenFortune, crafts inconspicuous-sounding messages on one side of the fortune paper, then a not-so-subtle ad for companies such as Capital One and Dentyne on the other side.
